King of the place, here is the mighty lion.
You can view some details, the sketch in progress and the paper I'm using
here.
Some innovations: drawing with colors and black paper... This is somehow
the "beta version" of "
Pencil Vs Camera". Many more works coming soon.
I left the drawing unfinished on purpose (I wanted to attract the attention on
the lion's face mainly). I took this picture in Tunisia and I also made the drawing.
See the whole "Pencil Vs Camera" albumUpdate: See THIS VIDEO showing some 18 Pencil Vs Camera images in
progress (with a small animation and an original musical composition)._________________________________________________

Technique alone, this piece stands apart from a normal drawing, as much as a normal photograph. Combining the two into a seamless work of art is nothing short of incredible. Unless one were to make the notion that this was properly edited using a software application, it would most certainly take an extremely steady hand to achieve such a perfect degree of alignment between the drawing, and the photograph.
Now, as to the aesthetic appeal of the work. To sum it up in a simple word, one could hazard to guess that one word would be something along the lines of 'inspiring.' Anyone who is a love of the Fantasy genre, or a writer, will probably find this piece particularly to their liking. One cannot look upon the majestic lion careening down a deserted street without wondering who it is, what it's doing or how did it get there?
Perhaps even more so than the lion itself, one would probably be more interested in the creature catching a ride on the lion's tail. This blueish, semi-humanoid thing is most perplexing as to its nature, and more importantly, its purpose. Is the lion running away from the creature, or is it helping the creature escape from some unseen force? Perhaps it's something else all-together? Who's to say?
This incredible piece of art really brings home a sense of fantastical wonder and intriguing mystery as much as exiting adventure or unseen horror. An exhilarating scene that begs to be turned into a novel, or even a movie.
A fantastic job well-done!
