(I actually made this artwork for Diesel in 2011)

Freedom is not far. I intended to represent a girl walking above clouds
from one pyramid's top to another. This is a picture I took from a plane
a few weeks ago when I traveled to Italy. I also made the quick sketch.
If you wish, you can view a detail this link.

Freedom Is Not Far

A poem by Peter S. Quinn

Traveling to a strange star
Is in our hope and dream
Its freedom is not too far
In the space river stream

Clouds of hope there drifting by
Like white pyramids tops
Castles in the far-off sky
Never images stops

Walking on to the near moon
Our beginning steps where
But we will though be going soon
To stars everywhere

Flying across the space dim sea
To in between dark place
There is trance for you and me
The make-believe ways

Walking and holding balance
Is very hard to do
But if you have acquaintance
With dreams it's up to you

Clouds in our times travel
All's within our own stair
New thoughts in times marvel
Are soon all coming here

I love all of the pics in your project, they make me laugh, they make me smile, they make me think or reflect. But I think this pic just became my favorite: she makes me dream.
I love that you chose a scenery above the clouds, something that for men still belongs to a forbidden world. No one can climb so high, unless taking a plane and being prisoner inside its body of glass and metal, completely unable to interact with the environment.
By the magic of your imagination, your small character can achieve what nobody has achieved before her, and there she goes on her rope above stars, from rooftop to rooftop.

I like a lot how the plane in the drawing adds some modernity to the picture and by contrast gives some materiality to the dream: this is not happening in another world, it happens in our own. All it takes is someone who has the guts to defy the clouds.

There is a tension in this picture between the strength of an ambition and an aspiration, a journey to the stars - and the delicateness of the colors, of the drawing and of the tiny character.
It resolves in an overall feeling of amazing optimism. It seems to say to the world: "whoever you are, however weak or delicate you feel, even in our world you can achieve a lot through dreaming".
Maybe what I'm saying about it is phony, but I do love the message, and I do love the work.

This is like most of your other arts to my mind a masterpiece tres bien! But, the are some pro's and cons, lets start with the cons first:

Cons: The pyramids seem a bit off in this picture, they dont really blend in the whole picture, and the clouds could be rougher.

Pros: But again, the pyramids fit the story, and the originality of this picture amazes me. Really love the background you drew, with the plane, and the little planet, those combinations are perfectly fitted with the moon. and the woman, walking on the ropes, really gives an atmospheric feeling of walking above everything. It is really hard to achieve such feelings, and that's why this is a job well done.

The paper's cut is very clean, looks edited, a more "real" messy look for it would look more realistic IMO
Nice piece whou.

Inspiration can be found all around us, as with poems, have not read many poems. I enjoy the fact that you include them, it adds a little something more to your work, well for me. Very creative and a fave also, thanks for sharing your amazing talent.

I am not sure if someone has already asked but when you took that photo, was the moon really like that or was that added in?

Aside that question, this is such a stunning result. I love this dream like feel to it!

Ok. I'm back and I got my friend's lap top. Now it's easier for me to type and share my interpretation. Well here goes...

Right away, I am drawn by the combination of medias that you have here, and I see many powerful visual elements that speaks to me. The pyramids, the moon, the planet within the doorway of the sketch and your hand holding the sketch, the woman on the balancing rope, the ladder, the endless sea of clouds seen in and out of... the world. Oh snap! Yes! I got it! It's also my sentiment as well! Yes! There is no limits to the world of art! The pyramids represents a powerful symbol of endless dimensions. It speaks of things above and beyond. The woman on the rope may represent a created character, or a chosen subject of countless possibilities by which she is currently balancing as she plays any role of life, from one world to another. Every world has a connection to the real world. For each media of art, basically expresses the mind and intent of the artist. The plane in the background seems as though it is about to transcend the limits of the sky in one world and into another. This is a supportive element that shares an invitation or rather an encouragement, of taking part of a journey of endless possibilities.

Your hand, is also a very powerful element to this work in which your hand represents the reality universe, the world that holds everything together. The sea of clouds represents brain storms ideas, imaginations that is ever expanding, like the universe that seems to expand, and the horizon filled with mysteries yet to explore.

What you hold in your hand may very well be a door way to another world.

Oh snap! And that's not all...I gotta dive deeper still. The mixed media, the sketch drawing, the photo,...all this also seems to visually speak to me of a sentiment that I also share as well. Creativity is a powerful word that stood out to me visually, and piecing every element together, it really supports what I also believe as well, and that there is no correct way to draw, or create art. It is a visual form of communication. This takes me to my personal philosophy that art encourages us to read into the picture, as literature paints the visual picture for us. Hm...actually that's a realization that I've learned, over time. Studying your pic, has actually helped confirmed this. It is only incorrect if the creator feels unsatisfied with that work. More than anything, art is an expression. Perhaps if creating an exact likeness were the case, than that would be different, but this pic, also shares that no matter what style or form of media we choose, every work of art is as distinct as the patterns of our fingerprints. Cool! I think I nailed it! Well, I hope I did. Or at least I came close. But that pretty much concludes my interpretation.

Phew! That was a fun challenge. Wow! Great work of art once again. I hope you enjoyed the read. ^^

Personally, it's almost impossible for me to make any suggestion to any art work, because for all I know, the artist may have intended certain forms, focus, or choice of colors to be a cartain way. Oh! hey! I gotta dive deeper still. I guess it's not over yet. There's also a visual form of arguement that holds very true, in that art is also provocative. It is actually, the very surface of this piece in which the observer will notice such originality, and boldness. For some, it may change the way they feel art should be, and...ah...breaks every barriers! awesome! That's what's up! XD I get excited, so you'll have to excuse me. I thought I was done, but I always find more when I look into your work more intently. And indeed, every picture speaks a thousand words. ...Aaaaand I think that concludes my interpretation...(studies pic again)...yeah. Well I guess I can always come back and add more if I find more stuff. Hehe. man this was fun. ^^
