Continuing my own journey through the world of Ben Heine, I came across this marvelously funny and intereting adaptation of an already famous painting.

The sense of continuity between the photo and the drawing has, as with Number 48 in the series, enhanced the picture and provided a focal point. It has to be said, that in comparison to the Number 48 picture, that focal point is not as affective in this work. I think that this is due to the drawing being half of the photo's element, (the picture), whereas in other pictures of the series, the drawing has added a complete element of its own.

On the other hand, I love the sense of fun with the gas mask and the carnivorous plant. In terms of technique though, I was really impressed by the girl's eyes. If you look very closely, Ben Heine has drawn a fantastic eye that absolutely matches the original eye that is still visible.

Once again, in a very original work, Ben Heine has given us something that is created exceptionally well and is very thought provoking and absorbing. The poem added a nice interpretive touch to it, too.
