Pencil Vs Camera - 18 by BenHeine Pencil Vs Camera - 18 by BenHeine

I took this photo in Oxford, England and also made the rough sketch.
It must be really difficult for blind people. Any accident can happen.
Danger is everywhere. Fortunately, this is just an illusion on a piece
of paper... My next PvsC work will be a bit more crazy...

>>> Review from THE DAILY MAIL for this picture: "Watch your
step! A man with a white stick is seen heading straight towards an
open manhole"
(Kerry McQueeney, The Daily Mail, Sept. 2011)

Update: See THIS VIDEO showing some 18 Pencil Vs Camera
images in progress (with a small animation and original music).

A Blind Spot

A poem by Peter S. Quinn

A blind spot on the road
That we try to walk around
It has mirages of a load
Nowhere else in life found

It may try to bring us chaos
And we risk of being lost
While we go there across
To its ways of star-crossed

Like a hole in the ground
Is the experience of the new
Nowhere else to be found
Only truth still to the few

I've seen the other deviations like this and I'm amazed.
It's just so unique and creative. I really like the idea and you're amazing. I just can see that the mole fall into the hole and it makes me laught.
Very interesting that you use photography and traditional art together and with traditional art photography looks more interesting.
I like it that you hold the paper, it's not just putted on the photo.
Sorry for the repeat but it's an amazing idea and I think a lot of ppl like it because it's not usual to see and it maked ppl smile.
Hope it's a good critique for you, I can't write anything bad about it.

O.o That's horrible! but so nicely done I am willing to forgive the horribleness of the "accident".... but I have often wondered that myself... How would they not fall into a hole, or run into something they hadn't swept with the stick

I love this! (And can really relate to it, being partially blind and having to use a cane myself!)

It's amazing how you make the work blend so seamlessly into the real world- with a bit of fun thrown in for a laugh- really, you've become one of my new favorite artists!
