Miniature by BenHeine Miniature by BenHeine

I took this photo in a street of Athens, Greece. I applied the "tilt
shift
process" (selective focus) to simulate a miniature scene.

(The above photo has been shot with the Samsung NX10)

* I don't really know if you shot it like this or if you edited it. My excuses if this IS the original, unedited photograph. Than this is a new effect for me.

Btw, I just saw your pop-art images, nice work.

Is this "Tilt-shift"?! Where?
You can see that the objects in this shot do not look like miniatures.

The composition of this photo is very good. However I'm not a fan of the tilt shift technique. Maybe it's because I work with Photoshop a lot and can spot the effect pretty easily, but to me it doesn't look like natural depth of field at all. Again, it might be because I've been working with Photoshop techniques for so long, but I can easily tell the difference between real depth focus shift / bokeh and a gradient-masked blur effect. Anyway, just an honest critique. You have a very good eye for composition, good job. :)

XD That's incredible, I'm so glad I read you're description. (And I feel like a noob as well... XDD) I saw it at first and was like; "That's cool, but you can clearly tell that it's a miniature photo."

... Then I read the comments and saw that it was not. XD Amazing photo! Great job!

It's all toy car & dusk fun :D ...great effect for this capture; it makes it so much more appealing to the eye. ...you mentioned selective focus - excuse the ignorant Q but out of mere curiosity, was this done optically (DOF) or in the post processing stage? or is optical tilt shift not feasible with this cam...

Doesn't really matter though, it's very nicely done either way
