Dawn into the Blue

A poem by Peter S. Quinn

Dawn into the blue
From night of dreamy play
Sunshine coming through
Till the end of the day

Like love with desire
The evening coming here
In the darkish glow fire
That becomes then near

Dream dreams of love
In the feelings they give
Like a moonshine above
When the night stars live

You and I so true
In night of luminary glow
Everything then to renew
Before morning will flow

Drawn in to tomorrow
With our hearts now beating
In the new born echo
That our ears are reading

Dawn into the blue
From yesterdays so sweet
And remember I love you
In all its shading’s trea

This picture seems really magical to me, which is actually why I'm trying to write a critique.

The first thing that comes to my mind when I see your picture is not actually that it looks way too foggy, but that this is peaceful. The colors, though they are cool, make me feel comfortable and I love the gradient from the top of the picture further down. In that simple color scheme the goose stands out nicely and through the slightly tilted look it gives something interesting to it, because normally I would find it a little bit boring that the bird is so centered.

However, there are a few things that you could have done different. Even though I like the picture and I think that its simplicity is a great benefit I think that it could have looked good if you would have put the bird a little higher and more of the water in the picture to provide detail. Also, I think that the fog seems a little bit too much, that the bird looks a little too dull, so that you might want to touch up the colors a little bit - just so that the brown stands it a little more.

Still, I really enjoyed looking at this and I still think it's a great piece that gives me a wonderful feeling.

I really enjoy the fog in the background making it difficult to see where the goose is headed. The angle helps to draw the interest to the picture and the coloration within the water makes it feel deep and inviting, while the background makes it curious. The title fits the picture so well. Very very good work my friend!

A good title, as the goose seems to sail into infinity.

Nice choice to go with the Dutch tilt. I like the gradient, as well.
