The first thing I see is excellent depth of field use. The composition is strong with emphasis on the subject and the very positive expressions. The second thing that struck me is how this is a wonderful example of a decisive moment. Much as how Bresson captured everyday life in his work revealed this same type of photography. The boys faces are perfectly lit and the expressions are great. The hand gestures as well were perfectly timed. It leaves me with the feeling that any other moment would not have produced the same result. Also the couple in the background, out of focus and backlit, play beautufully against the subject, balancing the composition and adding to the positive effect of the picture. A subtle and warm photography with great thought and effective technique. I see no reason for less than five stars in every way.
