Every Step you’ll Take Is Darkness
A poem by Peter S. Quinn
If you all think that you know it You probably don't know it well For the feathers of the devil will hit All the way still from far hell Every step you'll take is darkness From the obscurity on the light There is nothing in there to dress Only the pure Thor Viking’s fright
And the night will come shadow mean With the fire of purple red sky There is nothing of a spell between For it’s just the devil you and I… Lights from the hammer of breaking bones Rusts on like the autumn to old Souls into cetaceans’ pebble stones Billowing gasses they can not hold
Inside your muse there’s empty spouse Never again to the imagery reach Every word saying into the wind goes Withering down like a root rotten breach Summers will come and carry still on Though wings will go flying to nowhere Raindrops will dry futures be done But you'll be grown to roots dark snare
