The Echo of a Dream

A poem by Peter S. Quinn

Now this is of today
Beautiful love songs
Air clean up the way
That love inside longs
Dream to hold high
Feelings that are red
On horizon afar sky
Those evenings have bled

The echo of a dream
Once in a life to realize
Vision of heart to seem
Love’s reverie to actualize

Everything you know
That touches the inside
Like a morning soft glow
That thru air shall glide
Moments of your heart
That you grow and give
Full of its ember start
When love you again relive

All that was given a shade
In its moment of ricochet
From a delusion all made
In a Venice green alleyway

Now this is tomorrow
With your goals to fulfill
Footsteps of times borrow
When you climb its hill
Passions of yesteryear
Those are now complete
Sailing thru epoch air
On lives memory street

First, let me say what I see.

I see a romantic place, where lovers travel from all over the World, to be engulfed in love, pleasure, romance, and inspiration for their future.

The gondolier represents the work for this to happen. It is not ignored that he plays his part perfectly.

But the intrigue to this piece comes from the scene itself.

Ordinary lives hanging on the walls (laundry) are dispatched by the the lives of those in the boat seeking romance perhaps.

In other words, the tourists are blind to the fact that life consumes everything, even them.

But the memories are left unconsumed (I added that as a result from the "feel" of your art).

You did it.

You made the observer interact with your work, and take it past what you may have originally intended.

THAT is the mark of a true Artist.

You are a true Artist.
